104 Bridge Street is a blog about history, family, roots, memory, and human stories: stories of pioneering families, wars, the immigrant experience, death and tragedy, hope and love. Many of the stories are inspired by people and events in my own family history, but I hope they will be of general interest to anyone.
104 Bridge Street is named for the address of the house in which my great-great-grandfather, Alfred Robinson, was born in Little Bolton, Lancashire, England in 1852.
I dedicate this blog to the memory of my mother, who taught me what family means and instilled in me an abiding interest in my roots.
Thank you for accompanying me on my historical journey!
